I have had SO many people ask about the stories behind the songs so I figured I would share those!

First, ALL of the songs on the CD (except WAY OUT WEST) are written for me and about me by Greg Young--- so they are ALL personal in some way.

OCEANS of course was written while my spouse was in Iraq and it is amazing that Greg wrote this song before we had actually even met in person and he did it after us having about a 5 minute talk on the phone!!

WILDFLOWERS was a song that Greg said he thought pretty much pegged ME and how I am, after we got into a conversation about my ex-husband and how he was such a stifle!

ROAD KILL happens to be one of MY FAVS!!! This came about when I was rather bit**ing to Greg one day about all of the LOSERS I have dated in my life, the mamma's boys, drunks, etc--- and being in TEXAS we of course see a lot of ROAD KILL (literally)--- and the two just seemed to fit!!!
Greg had me at "hello" on this one and the band really kicked this one!!! Having Jason Lerma pick on it really worked it and of course Philip (as always being the drummer he is) makes it sweet!

NOTES was written by Greg shortly after we started working together and he brought it to me one night at a rehearsal at the house. It was written about me and my oldest daughter--- he didn't know however how MUCH he hit the nail on the head however until I told him that I HAD actually always written notes to Amanda since she was in Kindergarten,,, very special song.

FACE OF HOPE was one Greg actually said he COULDN'T write when I asked him to write me a song for missing children--- and just as he always does--he wrote a great one. This subject is a passion for me and I really wanted to have a song that represented that...and it was rough getting through that one in studio because it was SUCH a tough arrangement----
Finally Ryan and I went in after we recorded it earlier, and just re-did it with just piano and vocals.... I still don't feel as if I have done enough justice to this song.
